overall - it's a non-trivial exercise - much of it can be scripted easily enough, but it's more of a quick hack job.
it's easy to construct a table for migration from existing data, and make up everything you don't strictly need (bit of a faff) problem is cleaning the wikitext garbage (no offense) and turning it into rational xhtml. that's a bit more tricky - will need to iterate through all entries and replace the wikitext with their analogues from the html world.
Has there been any progress with this feature, to convert mediawiki over to deki wiki. I would very much like to make the transition from my current mediawiki installation.
Given Deki's market positioning as a substitute for MediaWiki, and MediaWiki's profile in the industry, I'd venture that a means to transition content from MediaWiki should be a priority. -- Martin Cleaver, Wiki Consulting.
